Kurnool district produces substantial turmeric and is one of AP's onion belts. Both crops have processing gaps: most leaves as raw produce at low margins. A combined unit running turmeric drying-and-grinding (with optional curcumin extraction) plus an onion dehydration line (kibbled, powder) captures both streams. Demand: turmeric for Spice Board export; dehydrated onion for FMCG and quick-service-restaurant manufacturers.
Capex of 15-35 lakh covers dryer, mill, dehydrator, packing, and FSSAI/Spice Board certifications. MIDH (horticulture infrastructure) and PMFME together cover up to 50% capex.
