Branded NE ginger & hill-spice processing line

Tirap, the Nocte Naga homeland on the Indo-Myanmar border, grows ginger and hill spices that today leave the district as raw, ungraded rhizome and loose spice at the bottom of the value chain. This venture sharpens away from the forced craft-plus-rice mashup onto the stronger single thread: a spice-processing line. It builds directly on the district's ginger-and-hill-spices ODOP atom and its jhum-horticulture-and-forest-produce base, and targets both live gaps — ginger moving from raw rhizome to dried, oil, and paste, and hill spices moving to a graded, branded Northeast spice line. The operator runs washing, slicing, drying, grading, paste-making, and small-batch packing under a single-origin NE spice brand sold to clean-label D2C, specialty-grocery, and ingredient buyers who value frontier provenance. The honest constraints dominate: extreme remoteness on the Myanmar border makes outbound logistics slow and costly; drying and moisture control must be disciplined to hit food-grade standards; and supply is dispersed across smallholder jhum plots, so aggregation and consistent grading are the hard part. The kept payback and risk reflect that logistics and aggregation drag, not weak demand for genuine NE-origin spice.
