Stone-ground wheat and multigrain atta mill near Narela mandi

This is a small flour mill that buys wheat, bajra and other grains at the mandi, cleans and grades them, and stone-grinds them into fresh atta and multigrain flour. Pack it in small bags for homes and sacks for bulk buyers.

Narela, in the north of this district, has the Narela Anaj Mandi, one of Delhi's main grain markets. Farmers from the villages around Narela and Alipur bring wheat here after the harvest, so a mill nearby can pick good lots and buy in small amounts. Many Delhi families still prefer fresh chakki atta, which a local mill can deliver within days of grinding.

You need an FSSAI food licence, registration for packed goods with the Legal Metrology department, and a mandi buyer's licence or a commission agent to buy for you. You also need a grain cleaner with a stone remover, a stone mill and a bag sealer. The hard part is thin margins. Big packaged atta brands sell cheaply everywhere, neighbourhood chakkis already grind to order, and wheat prices swing through the year, so buy well at harvest and store grain safe from insects and damp. Stone-ground flour also spoils sooner, so stock must move fast.

Sell to sweet shops, restaurants and caterers in bulk, to local kirana stores, and to housing societies through home delivery.
