This workshop frames paintings, prints and photographs with care, using acid-free mounts that do not stain the art and glass that blocks the part of sunlight that fades colours. It also builds padded wooden crates to send artworks safely to buyers, shows and fairs. You charge per frame and per crate, and can add pick-up and delivery.
Lado Sarai, beside Saket and Mehrauli, is known for its cluster of art galleries, and South Delhi's well-off homes buy and hang art. Galleries work to tight dates before each opening, and are busiest in the weeks before Delhi's big yearly art fair. A workshop close to them can turn work round quickly, check each piece in person.
You need a workshop with a mount cutter, a saw for cutting frame corners, a clean framing table and a woodworking corner for crates, plus skilled framers and carpenters. Wood for crates going abroad must be heat-treated and stamped to meet export rules. The hard part is trust: established framers and art shippers already serve the big galleries, and one damaged artwork can cost more than months of profit. Insure the work in your care, and photograph and note its condition when it arrives.
Start with young artists and smaller galleries, show sample frames and crates, and deliver on time for every opening.
