Mehsana's NABARD plan for 2023-24 sees room for about ₹10,658 crore of bank lending across the district's 10 blocks — up nearly 29% on the year before. Farming and allied work make up the bulk at ₹6,423 crore (about 60%), while small and medium businesses (MSME) account for ₹3,215 crore (about 30%).
The single biggest piece is ordinary crop loans — ₹2,987 crore — for the district's main crops: wheat, castor, bajra, mustard, groundnut, potato, fennel, cumin and isabgul, grown mostly by small farmers.
