Engineering plastic compounding unit for electrical parts

This is a plastic compounding unit. It melts and mixes base plastics such as polypropylene and nylon with glass fibre, additives that slow burning, colour and fillers in a twin-screw extruder (a machine that melts and blends plastic), then cuts the result into granules. Moulders (factories that shape plastic parts) use these granules to make switch housings, meter boxes, cable fittings and machine parts that must be strong, heat-resistant or slow to burn.
