Valsad in southern Gujarat has an estimated ₹7,443.98 crore of bankable credit potential for 2023-24. The picture is overwhelmingly industrial: MSME alone accounts for ₹5,846.50 crore (about 78%), while all of agriculture is ₹873.40 crore (about 12%) and housing adds ₹602.35 crore. So most of the lending opportunity here is in factories and shops, not farms.
On the industrial side, the district runs five industrial estates (GIDCs) at Gundlav, Vapi, Sarigam, Pardi and Umargam, strong in chemicals, textiles, plastics and paper.
