The plateau's forests, oilseed fields and vegetable farms flower at different times of year, and honey with a clear local origin is easier for buyers to trust.
You need an FSSAI food licence, a honey processing machine sized for your volume, a clean room, and a tie-up with a food testing lab. The hard part is supply and purity. There may be too few beekeepers near Ranchi at first, so you may have to help new ones start. Honey is often mixed with sugar syrup, and buyers and food inspectors test for it, so buy only from beekeepers you know and test every lot. You also need cash to buy in the flowering season.
Start by training and signing up beekeepers in nearby blocks, perhaps supplying bee boxes. Sell through Ranchi's sweet and grocery shops, festival and office gift packs, and online stores.
