Kiphire is Nagaland's most remote, forest-rich district with deep traditional honey-gathering and forest-produce traditions. A managed apiary plus wild-produce aggregation cooperative scales these to commercial volumes.

Kiphire is among Nagaland's most remote districts — sparse roads, dense forest, traditional Yimchunger and Sangtam communities still gathering forest honey, herbs, and aromatic plants. A managed-apiary cooperative (80–120 bee boxes across 20–30 households) plus an aggregation facility for wild forest produce (honey, beeswax, wild herbs, mushrooms) scales subsistence-level activity to commercial supply. Premium D2C wellness brands pay 3–5× regional prices for genuinely-wild forest origin.
Capex of ₹3–8 lakh covers bee boxes, basic processing (honey extractor, settling tank, packaging), and a small aggregation shed. The National Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) at 80% subsidy for tribal NE clusters + DAY-NRLM for SHG organising fund the build. Hard parts: beekeeping training, sustainable wild-harvest practices (overharvesting destroys the resource), and reaching premium buyers. Start with managed honey only; expand to wild-forest aggregation in year 2.
