Kapurthala's 2023-24 credit plan sizes the district's yearly lending potential at about ₹9,151 crore. Nearly all of it sits in two buckets: agriculture and allied work (₹5,394 cr, ~59%) and MSME (₹2,581 cr, ~28%), with the rest split across housing (₹462 cr), export credit (₹447 cr), education (₹118 cr) and smaller lines.
Farming is the backbone.
