This unit packs goods for export. It builds wooden crates and pallets to size, wraps fragile pieces, heat-treats and stamps wooden packing so it meets international plant-safety rules, labels cartons, and helps load containers. Small exporters pay per job instead of keeping their own packing team.
Jaipur exports blue pottery, block-printed textiles and many other handicrafts. It has an international airport, a major railway junction, highway links to Delhi and Ahmedabad, and a large inland container depot at Kanakpura. NABARD's 2023-24 credit plan for Jaipur puts export credit at Rs 781.24 crore and notes the district has 48 industrial areas. Many exporters are small firms that cannot justify a full packing setup.
You need a covered shed in or near an industrial area, woodworking tools, a heat-treatment chamber for wooden packing, strapping and wrapping machines and a small goods vehicle. To stamp wooden packing as treated, you must be approved by the government's plant quarantine office, which takes paperwork and inspections. The hard part is that orders bunch up before shipping dates, and one broken consignment can cost you a client. Existing packers already serve the big exporting firms, so start with small and new ones.
