High-altitude eco-stay with cardamom-orange larder

North Sikkim's permit-gated valleys draw a controlled, premium-leaning tourist flow on the high-Himalaya nature circuit, while the entry tier is saturated with generic budget hotels. A 6-10 room eco-stay built from local materials, paired with a small larder selling the district's GI large cardamom (graded pods, cardamom-infused products) and mandarin-orange squash, juice and dried peel, attracts travellers who want an experience and will pay for it, and roots the property in the district's own GI cardamom and its orange and buckwheat farming. The larder also turns raw cardamom pods into graded, branded spice and raw fruit into juice, squash and peel, bringing in year-round direct sales to customers that even out the seasonal income from rooms. The hard parts: snow and rains cut off access, leaving roughly six usable months a year, so plan occupancy around a short season; training hospitality staff at altitude is hard; cardamom and orange supply is seasonal and needs reliable local sourcing; and break-even is realistically several years out. Buyers: slow-travel and photography tourists, premium domestic OTAs and curated stay platforms, plus D2C buyers of Sikkim cardamom and orange products.
