It builds on the district's banana belt on the Yamuna bank and the existing banana food-processing focus (ODOP) infrastructure and policy support, converting glut-priced fresh bananas into vacuum-fried chips, dried banana, aseptic puree and banana flour under a local label.
It takes 30 months to pay back, because of these constraints: perishability and harvest gluts mean procurement and drying capacity must absorb peaks, FSSAI compliance and oil/moisture control are core to chip and flour quality, and a branded line must win distribution. There is also an optional banana-fibre angle from waste stems, but it is a second business — keep focus on food first. Buyers are snack and FMCG distributors, bakery and baby-food ingredient buyers, online wholefood platforms, and regional retail across UP. Start with chips and dried banana for fastest cash; add puree and flour once supply and demand are proven.
