Printed cartons and leaflets for pharma units

This unit prints and cuts the folding cartons, labels and folded leaflets (the paper inserts inside medicine packs) that drug makers use. It runs an offset printing press, a die-cutter to cut and crease cartons, a folding machine and a quality-check desk. Many printers start with a good second-hand press.

NABARD's 2023-24 credit plan for Dehradun names SIDCUL expansion, Selaqui and a Pharma City among the district's key industrial projects, and MSME lending is the largest part of the plan at ₹3,911.88cr. The plan also lists herbal and forest-based industries, which need printed packs too.

You need a factory licence, pollution board consent, and a clean shop floor, because medicine buyers check suppliers against good manufacturing practice (strict rules on cleanliness, records and error control). The hard part is zero errors: one wrong strength or batch detail on a carton can force a recall, so you need careful proofreading, signed artwork approvals and a full clean-out of the machine between jobs. Getting onto a buyer's approved supplier list can take months, large buyers can be slow to pay, and printers from other towns already serve many of these units.

Start by meeting purchase and quality heads at Selaqui units, take small urgent orders first, and win trust with fast delivery before bidding for regular contracts.
