This is a machine shop that makes precise metal parts from customer drawings using CNC (computer-controlled) lathes and milling machines. Typical jobs are brackets, housings, fittings and small assemblies in aluminium, steel and titanium, each measured and recorded before delivery.
Bengaluru Urban is a major centre for aerospace, defence and electronics, home to large public-sector units and a wide network of private suppliers. What it takes: a factory licence, pollution board consent, a measuring room, and skilled machinists and programmers. You also need AS9100 certification (the quality standard aerospace buyers demand). The hard part is getting approved. Big buyers audit you for a long time before the first order, early volumes are small, and payments can be slow, so you need cash in reserve and patience.
Buyers are large aerospace and defence units, parts exporters and their bigger suppliers. Reach them through vendor registration drives, the air show held at Yelahanka, and by doing small, difficult jobs perfectly.
