What it takes: GST registration, a trade licence, a small finishing room, a simple photo setup, and someone who truly knows silk. The hard part is trust on both sides. Weavers need fair, on-time payment or they will go back to middlemen. Buyers need proof that the saree is really handwoven, not a power-loom copy, and that the silk and zari (metal thread) are genuine, so honest labels, a pure-silk certificate and a clear return policy matter. Unsold stock ties up money.
