Phek's high-altitude valleys (Pfütsero, Khezhakeno) grow distinctive citrus including the locally-known Apple Orange, plus rare cool-climate produce — kiwi, peach, plum. Output is small but quality is genuinely high. A small unit running juice extraction, marmalade, dried-fruit, and a small concentrate line captures the premium of altitude-origin fruit, sold to D2C and HoReCa as single-origin Phek-altitude products.
Capex of ₹6–14 lakh covers juicer, dehydrator, marmalade kettle, packing, and a small organic certification cycle. MIDH (horticulture) and MOVCD-NER (organic NE clusters with up to 75% capex grant) cover the bulk. Hard parts: small absolute production volumes (the brand has to be premium-priced, not high-volume), reaching the right specialty retail (Foodhall, Le Marche, similar premium grocers), and altitude logistics (Phek is genuinely remote). Plan for slow-build premium brand over 3–4 years.
