Gomati carries thousands of hectares of rubber, but smallholders tap latex daily and sell it raw to private buyers because they lack on-site processing. This builds on the district's rubber base atom and the "raw sheet" rubber gap: a producer cooperative running acid coagulation, rolling, smoking and grading into Ribbed Smoked Sheets (RSS Grades 1-4), sold direct to tyre and rubber-product manufacturers at a meaningful premium over latex prices. Pooling a 60-80 farmer cluster gives volume that single tappers can't offer buyers. The honest constraints are organisational and craft: existing private buyers hold entrenched, credit-linked relationships with farmers, so winning members needs trust and prompt payment; smoke-house operation is a skill where inconsistent drying downgrades sheets and erases the premium; and direct buyer contracts must be lined up before scaling. Freight out of the Northeast adds cost that grading discipline must offset. Start with ~30 farmers, prove first-year quality, then scale to 80. Buyers: mainland tyre and rubber-goods factories and rubber-trading houses.
