Aggregate Mau's loom-state grey silk into a finished, branded saree label sold to wedding-trousseau retailers and online ethnic-wear platforms. The edge is finishing and brand, not weaving — the looms already exist.

Mau is one of eastern UP's last surviving handloom saree centres, known for Sadiya silk weaving, and runs an ODOP powerloom cluster alongside a deep handloom-and-silk weaving workforce. Yet most cloth leaves the district as loom-state grey, and weavers capture a fraction of the finished saree's price. This unit closes the silk-saree loom-state-to-finished gap: it takes grey woven cloth from member weavers, then does the value-adding back end — dyeing, zari and border attachment, polishing, quality grading, photography, and labelling under one brand. Sell to wedding-trousseau showrooms across UP and Bihar, online ethnic-wear marketplaces, and diaspora wholesale. What it takes: reliable dye-house chemistry and colour-fastness consistency, a designer to build a tight SKU range each season, working capital to hold finished stock through long retail payment cycles, and patient weaver-relationship management so supply stays loyal. The hard part is brand-building and inventory risk, not production. Start with one strong saree line for trousseau buyers; widen the range once retail accounts repeat.
