Mysuru's sweet shops, caterers and hotels use a lot of ghee, the base of Mysore Pak, and khoa for milk sweets, most of all through Dasara and the wedding season. Dairy is the biggest farm term-loan line in NABARD's credit plan for the district.

Mysuru's GI Mysore silk is woven locally but sold largely through middlemen with thin weaver margins. A provenance-led saree house buys authentic GI silk, builds a designed SKU range, and sells D2C to metro and diaspora buyers at brand pricing.

Visitors come to Mysuru for the Palace, Chamundi Hill and Dasara, but many see only the big sights from a car. Guided morning cycle rides and evening walks through old markets and heritage streets give them a slower, fuller day.

Mysuru is one of India's best-known incense stick centres, and Mysore Agarbathi carries a GI tag. A small unit that rolls, perfumes and packs sticks and dhoop cones can sell to puja shops, temples, wholesalers and gift buyers.

Mysuru's Gokulam area is known worldwide for Ashtanga yoga, and students from abroad stay for weeks or months. Simple, clean long-stay rooms with a kitchen, fast internet and quiet early mornings suit them better than hotels.

Mysuru grows paddy, ragi and maize, and NABARD's credit plan flags grain storage as a gap in the district. A clean, pest-controlled warehouse lets farmers, farmer groups and millers store grain and borrow against it instead of selling cheap at harvest.

Rosewood inlay is Mysuru's GI-tagged signature craft, yet some local rosewood still leaves as rough timber. A workshop making smaller inlay gifts and wall panels can sell to tourists, companies and gift buyers at craft prices.

NABARD's credit plan for Mysuru names turmeric and ginger as spice opportunities, and four farmer producer groups already work in the district. A unit that boils, dries, grades and grinds them sells to spice makers and keeps more value local than selling the raw crop.

Electronics design and manufacturing (ESDM) is Mysuru's lead One District One Product sector, and its industrial areas host electronics and engineering factories. A unit that makes wire harnesses and cable sets to their drawings can be a nearby, reliable supplier.
